What do you want your image to do? Did you wake up this morning with a plan and an idea of the story you wanted to tell? Perhaps you just got dressed today in the closest things that came to hand, and haven’t thought about how you look and how others see you at all? I tend to think that if you are reading this then you might be interested in how your image can be more in tune with your thoughts, and also be open to accessing your creativity in a positive and intentional way.

 

Being more aware of the thinking behind your image and therefore the messaging you are sending out into the world, will help you to tell a story that is truly yours. If you accept that your image is more than the sum of its parts, you can experiment with the practical aspects, the styling ideas and then add a good dash of ‘je ne sais quoi’. There is far more about you than your clothes and your grooming. However, being more aware of these subtle but important nuances can really help to elevate your image and how you feel about yourself.

 

As an individual there are many unique aspects to your overall appearance. Do you ever think about your posture, and how the way you move can alter the way you feel, and therefore how others see you. I think that one of the main takeaways from any meeting will be that intangible emotion, confidence. If you think about the last person you saw, or when you met friends or a business contact, it is unlikely that you will remember what they were wearing but you will remember how they came across in their interaction with you. Were they standing tall and open or were they slumped and closed off? Feeling good about yourself is so much more than wearing the latest fashions, or the ‘right’ shade of red.
